How influential networks can be to cities...

I see many people against the internet, electronic development and virtual interaction.

What i wonder is why we spend so much time AGAINST what we dislike, instead of spending time NURSING what we like?

1. The internet is here to stay. Does anybody doubt that? 
2. Technology is always advancing. Does anybody doubt that? 
3. Networks establish more connections than real life. Does anybody doubt that? 
4. These are tools. Does anybody doubt that? 
5. It's no longer possible to stop globalization (was it ever?). Does anybody doubt that? 
6. We understand better what "global" means, because (networkwise) we went global. Does anybody doubt that?

See, i'm not judging here. I'm not saying this is good or bad.'m observing.
Regarding to the reason why i write all that: As i live here and now, i look for the best of it, i use these tools IN FAVOUR of what i believe. Fighting against the course of events is dying on the beach.

CHOICES:

1. One can get off the internet, why not? That's a fair possibility. Social freedom...
2. One can help such course to flow better. That's a relevant possibility. Social engagement...

Surely, i talk to people that goes for the second choice. I AM on the internet here, right!?

The virtual world requires social regulation - i said SOCIAL -, adaptation, improvement and most of all understanding. That's our role and that's wonderful, because the internet happens "with us", on us, because of what we do in it and with it.

New possibilities are blossoming. New forms of organization are emerging. So, catch the flight and enjoy the trip, if you can!...
